Naran is central town of Kaghan Valley and one of the top summer tourist resort of Pakistan. It is also known as main gateway to Northern region of Pakistan via Babusar Pass (4000m). Naran is located at 2409 m from sea level and 65 km from Babusar Pass. It is also known as Switzerland of Pakistan.
Saiful Maluk, 7 kms from Naran is the prime attraction in Naran. The delightful lake in summer, when the meadows of alpine flowers are in bloom and the water reflecting the peak of Malika Parbat makes the most spectacular view over the lake and should be must visit when travel to Naran.
A pleasant half day jeep excursion takes one to Lalazar Plateau. Located at 3,200 metres, this beautiful meadow is 16 kms from Naran. There is an opportunity of trekking from Lalazar to Saiful maluk (5 to 6 hours).
From Naran Village the Naran-Babusar road ascends 48 kilometres northeast up Kaghan Valley to Basel, and from there one reaches Lulusar Lake. A Jeep can be hired in Naran for excursion to the Lulusar Lake. A road is under construction southeast around the lake which will link Naran and Basel to Chilas and the Karakoram Highway south of Gilgit.
